New project management area for clients

Starting immediately, we are managing all of our projects through our brand new client area. Powered by Collabtive, (a free, open source project management tool quite similar to Basecamp by 37 Signals) the client area provides a space to easily share files, messages, track progress, hours, and even budget.

There is a link to the client area at the top of our website or you can navigate there directly by going to projects.mclanecreative.com.

McLane Creative has become successful largely because of our simple philosophy. Rather than have a stable of designers, programmers, and various other team members, we put together a custom team of freelancers for each project.

It’s all about keeping overhead at a bare minimum so we can pass along the absolute highest value. (The ultimate marketing strategy)

Sometimes that means that one person (Adam) runs the whole project. But at other times it’s that we coordinate more complex projects with several firms or individuals from across a few continents.

When it’s just a single person working on a project it’s relatively easy to track hours with Ballpark, (our invoicing app) communicate with the client via email, and lumber along that way. But that just doesn’t work when you have more than two parties. Stuff gets lost and the project tends to run behind.

We are looking forward to increasing our collaboration and ideation with this fun new tool!
